So one of my favorite quotes is “You can’t see red flags when you look through rose-colored glasses.” It’s so hard to be with someone for so long and let them go, but it’s so important to put yourself first. The pain that persisted was much greater than the pain that the dismissal was likely to cause me. Although it hurt, it changed who I am as a human being, and now I am much smarter. I would never know what I would do now without this relationship. Since then, this year has just been dedicated to self-love regardless. The healing journey will continue throughout my life, and I am happy with it.
