I have been dating a guy for 2 and a half years and have been emotionally and mentally abused. I never realized what I was going through until I finally got out of it. That’s why one of my favorite quotes is “You can’t see red flags when you look through pink glasses.” It’s so hard to be with someone for so long and let them go, but it’s so important to put yourself first. The pain that lasted was much greater than the pain that I thought I could let go of. Although it hurt, it changed who I am as a person, and I am much wiser now. I would never have known what I was doing now if it weren’t for that relationship. Since then, this year has simply been dedicated to loving yourself no matter what. The healing journey will last for the rest of my life, and I am satisfied with that.
